Breakfast like a Queen, Lunch like a Princess DInner like a Pauper !

I love breakfast! A cup of earl grey tea (with soya milk) cinnamon and apple porridge, Bon Mamam Blackcurrent jam on toast! Delish! But the best breakfasts are when sometimes, I have a a letter to read like this one from my friend Charlie, that has an Beatrix Potter illustration! I wish more letters were sent, emails are sort of impersonal, like kindle vs books - I much prefer the hard copy, but for practicality ICT often prevails.

Beautiful Teapot

It has to be said this is the most superfluous teapot I have ever seen and looks fit for a crazy green queen! Teapots are not only lovely but economical and ecological! One tea bag brews far more than one cup of tea but today it only serves one! The tea pot brings about an ancient british ceremony lol! It is about sharing and not being wasteful! A teapot is the ultimate socialist kitchen appliances next to the giant soup pot! I love mine in all its greeness! 

Drinks anyone?

Why would anyone drink out of plain glasses? The fun is when they are a pretty colour of have something quaint about them! I love my little selection of glasses that I have picked up from here and there and I love them all! Sometimes its quite hard to chose which one will contain the delicious liquid which goes into them because they are all so lovely - sounds a bit crazy but hey my name in gaelic means little rose and as the post previously explains flowers need their juice! 

Spring is on its way ...

A gift from my mum! Paper whites have a beautiful fragrance delicate a first then more buds open the greater the perfume. I find the way one stem and seemingly one flower gives birth to several individual white flowers. The glass jar show the wonderful root system... my mother noted than all they need is water and sunlight ... so often do we mistake soil to be the only anchorage for the absorption of minerals all they actually need is water. But what a lovely chance to see roots - why aren't all flowers in transparent containers?

Physalis Fruit Garland

 Fruit and Veg are a big part of my life as a vegan! I really love physalis :) especially when they are only £1 in Waitrose! They first came into my life in primary school in a lesson on tropical fruits. This lesson has stayed with me all these years and I hope others have had similar lessons as children. Tropical fruits are a wonderful thing when tried for the the first time as you have no preconceptions of taste, smell etc. When I was little the most exciting fruit supermarkets had were strawberries but now you can buy kumquats, dragon fruit goji berries and many more! But physalis is what I remember being most excited about! The little tent/cocoon/flower/leaf hides a little golden nugget with a sweet yet bitter flavour. On the string they flutter and shimmer even though there is no window open or draught very strange but beautiful!

Wade whimsies/ Kitsch glorious Kitsch

I have a fascination with Wade Whimsies I LOVE THEM! ... My mum gave me one when I was about 6 and it was a dolphin I put it in a little wooden box (a sort of wade reliquary)  that I cannot at present find! But these are the ones I have found in chazzas and carboots! I have x2 swallows, an owl (of course), a whale, polar bear, chimp, bunny, turtle! hopefully I will find more... but I never see them in london only in Cardiff so when I am home the whimsical wade whimsey hunt begins :D xxxx p.s. the shelf they are on cost me 10p ... just saying lol
